This opportunity provides funding for up to 40 hours of staff time a week, or 1 full time equivalent (FTE) position, at up to 30 Montana County and Tribal health departments. These positions will help health departments meet requirements of Montana Code Annotated (MCA) Title 50 Health and Safety, deliver Foundational Public Health Services and/or continue COVID-19 Pandemic response and recovery.
This is a competitive opportunity and awardees will be selected based on the following:
1) Complete application submitted to the Montana PH System Improvement Office before March 1, 2023 12:00pm MST.
2) Description of position duties related to continued COVID-19 Pandemic response and recovery, Foundational PH Services, and/or MCA Title 50. For existing supplemental positions losing funding, describe the benefit of continuing the position.
3) Description of how the position addresses diversity and inclusion, community health equity, and/or community Social Determinants of Health.
4) Description of how this position will strengthen the delivery of the Foundational Public Health Services identified for your jurisdiction.
5) Priority will be given to continuing positions already funded by the State as part of COVID-19 Pandemic response and recovery.
This funding is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) OE22-2203: Strengthening U.S. Public Health Infrastructure, Workforce, and Data Systems grant supported by the American Rescue Plan Act . Ongoing support for this activity is contingent on continued funding from the CDC. Funding for selected health departments will begin July 1, 2023. DPHHS will issue quarterly reimbursement payments starting in October 2023 based on actual expenses as verified by financial documents.
