Scholarship for New to Public Health (N2PH) Residency Program

The PHSIO Workforce Development Program is offering state, local, and tribal health department staff sponsorship to the New to Public Health (N2PH) Residency Program. The accredited 12-month program offers a comprehensive curriculum that would be beneficial for anyone new to Public Health. Please review the information below, attached, and at the links provided to gauge if this program would be a good fit.

    Program Dates: February 2025 – February 2026

Format: Online learning course with monthly facilitated discussions in a cohort of peers (every second Monday of the month from 12:30pm – 2pm), mentorship, and completion of an evidence-based practice project. In total, participants should plan to commit approximately 10 hours a month.

    Eligibility:

Staff who are interested in the program should discuss the opportunity with their supervisors before applying.

    • Staff must be new to public health (0-3 years of public health experience, will consider up to 5 years or more under certain circumstances).
    • Staff must have minimum of six months in their current position / completed probationary period.
    • Staff must work for a state, local or tribal health department in Montana.

(Please note: This program is a great alternative to the UM Certificate in Public Health (CPH) Program for those that don't have a bachelor's degree. All spots are currently filled for UM Certificate Program sponsorship, but information will be made available when additional spots open up.)

Please note there are is a different application link for local and tribal staff, and state staff.
