How public health practitioners can use strategic communication to advance public health

 Description: Whether you are crafting a mission statement or rallying community support for healthy policies, public health practitioners must communicate effectively and strategically. Public health workers and their partners' can change the narrative and improve conditions for families and communities across Montana. In this webinar, Berkeley Media Studies Group (BMSG) will share communications tools that public health professionals can use to advance their collective work. The webinar will cover the following:

• How an overall strategy guides communication strategies;
• How to conduct a power analysis to examine unequal power relationships and identify effective pathways toward advancing social change
• How to use the components of a message strategy to develop compelling values-based messages

BMSG will provide capacity-building resources throughout the webinar so that participants learn how to create strong messages and learn the tools necessary to ignite new messages within their organizations.
