Bio

Kerry is a contract resource assigned to the DPHHS Local and Tribal Support team. He is an experienced communications leader who has spent his career inside large, complex organizations helping leaders navigate change, earn credibility and align employees around a clear sense of direction. Across healthcare and automotive, Kerry has led communication at moments of significant transformation: GM’s bankruptcy and ignition switch crisis, the opioid crisis, large-scale acquisitions, massive enterprise restructuring, strategy resets, CEO and C-suite leadership transitions and significant operational change.

In 2025, Kerry founded Open Road Communications to partner with organizations navigating change. In parallel, he serves as a lecturer at The Ohio State University, teaching the next generation of communicators how to influence through clarity, credibility and purpose.

Kerry lives in central Ohio with his wife, Desiree. Married for 31 years, they have raised seven children. Kerry and Desiree met in high school and grew up together in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In his free time, Kerry enjoys riding his Harley‑Davidson and playing guitar.
